If you’re that bloody worried about burning an extra 10 calories a day, why don’t you just get off your arse and go for a walk?

YES! I braved the weight room on Tuesday and left feeling like a BAMF.today-is-where-your-book-begins:
the thing is, i’m not afraid to try. i’m not afraid to be the only girl in the weight room.
as much as you think people in there are staring at you & examining what you’re doing, they’re really not.
people don’t go to the gym so much to watch other people….
I’m afraid that my form isn’t right and I’ll hurt myself.
At home I feel safer with my max 40lbs.But I’m seriously considering it.

This is so sad. We have to break this cycle.
Not smarter. Not nicer. Not better people. Not a scientist or an engineer or a teacher or a mother. Just thinner.
We as a society have to remember that when we see ads on TV saying ‘LOSE 10 LBS N 10 DAYS!’ ‘GET RID OF THAT UGLY FAT!’ ‘TAKE THESE DIET PILLS!’, our children are seeing them too.
When you’re complaining about how ‘fat’ you look in the mirror, your little sister or brother, your son or daughter, your cousin, the child you babysit, sees it. And they internalize it. It starts them on a LIFETIME of being obsessed with body image. They’re actually MORE likely to become obese because of hyper-awareness of body image and constantly feeling like they’re not good enough. They’re MORE likely to end up with an eating disorder.
It has to stop.

Comment beneath: “Why can’t I look like this?”
- Because you don’t have an entire team of people styling your hair and doing your makeup for 4 hours.
- You don’t have airbrushed foundation, perfectly applied bronzer and precision-placed show lighting to…

I want bigger arms. I want to lose more weight. I want more defined abs. I want to be more “toned”. I want bigger shoulders. I want huge traps. I want to be faster. I want a more muscular butt.
The point is...there’s always something we want.
It bugs me how many people aren’t happy with what…
Why is a thigh gap so important to everyone trying to slim down? I don’t get it. I’m 10 pounds away from my UGW and my legs are as slim as they are going to get. There isn’t a second of the day where they aren’t rubbing up on each other and that’s perfectly fine with me because those little itty bitty thighs I keep seeing on my dash that people want so much wont take me on a 10 mile run or squat 155lbs. I have thunder thighs and I’m damn proud of them.

“There’s no limit on pretty. You don’t have to say that girl is ugly for you to feel pretty.”
There are so many good points in this video. Seriously, it’s a must-watch.

Thought this was intensely interesting.
Photo-retouching is an art (I have friends who do it for a living) but it’s really important to know that the photos you see in magazines & on…
I really hate weight loss blogs that give horrible, horrible, horrible advice. I’ve seen things such as:
“To get slimmer thighs do leg lifts”…FALSE. There is no such thing as spot reduction. In order to slim down one area, you have to slim down ALL over. Your body decides where it wants to lose…
