Thank you yoga and running for giving me a strong core…instead of a concave one :p

And that is why I am eating, and why I will continue to every damn day.
Even if I’m crying into my dinner plate.
Even if I can barely breathe for panic.
Even if it takes an hour to finish lunch. My body = my vehicle for everything I do. There is too much in life to experience, I am not…
I get a fair amount of asks along these lines
“What made you write the metabolism series?”
“Why do you always spoil all the fun?” (okay, so one of these, hah!)
“I don’t agree with you on x and y because…”
So I thought I’d make one little post while I wait for my breakfast to settle before the…
This photo of a BEAUTIFUL and extremely fit and sculpted woman was posted on a Facebook page and said “rate her out of 10”
WTF.
So of course there were plenty of people who were complimentary to her but then theres always some dim wit asshole who makes the comment like “she’s a man” or “I…
This. It’s fine if you aren’t into a specific body type but to openly disparage someone because they don’t fit your ideals? That’s a sign of insecurity, weakness and a closed mind - TURN-OFF.
So on Friday I took a picture of my scale every few hours. Why? To show what the scale may be telling you when you step on it.
The scale weighs everything and nothing at the same time. It can tell you how much your fat, muscle, organs, blood, hair, nails, etc. weigh at that given point and time. It also tells you what you’re wearing, how much product is in your hair, if you’re retaining water, that you ate last night and it’s somewhere in your GI, that you may have had some water in the last few hours, etc.
The scale weighs nothing. This changing number throughout the day doesn’t tell me how much I can squat, how far or fast I run, what my grades are, how well my clothes fit, if I’m a genuinely good person. My scale knows nothing about me.
Everyone fluctuates weight daily. I was as high as 141 and as low as 137 all within less than 24 hours. If we fluctuate this much during the day, imagine how much we fluctuate day to day? Weigh yourself every day and see that after a few days of “good eating” you’re up a few pounds? Is it really fat? Is it really ANYTHING? No.
Don’t let the scale tell your story - it’s a liar.
THERE YOU GO. I mean it’s a great indicator of where you are in your weight loss journey, but don’t give the scale so much credit! Such a beautiful post.
part of the reason I stopped weighing myself!

and you want it to be just about the music and not your weight… yet you lost a fuck load of weight since becoming famous.. nice try adele, looks like you fell victim to society. Too bad girls can’t have one role model that doesn’t feel like they need to lose weight in order to be successful.
whoa. we should NOT be shaming her for losing weight. who knows the reasons behind why she did it? maybe it was for her career OR maybe she did it for herself - there is absolutely no way for us to know. it’s her body & has nothing to do with her music, so let’s appreciate (or dislike) her for what she puts out there & not what she does with her body.
plenty of people here on tumblr are trying to lose weight, but it doesn’t mean they “fell victim to society”. it just means that they are trying to change something about their body and hopefully moving towards health.

…be skeptical of it. Be skeptical even if it has a citation. Even if it agrees with what you already believe about nutrition and exercise. Especially if that.
If you’re really going to base any decision in your life on that factoid, follow that citation to the source. Verify that real, valid, independent science was used to arrive at the conclusions that the factoid expresses.
In short, don’t believe it just because you read it on Tumblr.
True, I see so many ridiculous facts on here - usually of the “doing _____ burns 100 calories/1 lb of fat/some other such nonsense”. Be open-minded enough that are able to consider something that you hadn’t thought of before, but skeptical enough to need further evidence that it’s true.
I found this post while looking at a friends blog and it seriously made me sick to my stomach. Because I know how much people can embrace this message. I know what this kind of thing does to people. It’s a fucking LIE, and people are believing it.
In order to fight this lie, I made a couple of my own motivational pictures. Please reblog them and spread the word about true stength.
