Anonymous asked: doesnt cardio make you lose weight faster than strength training since it burns more calories?
it is important to differentiate between losing weight & losing fat.
depending on your protein & caloric intake, cardio will burn muscle along with fat. strength training will preserve & increase your muscle mass, thus allowing you to burn more calories at rest.
there is a picture that i occasionally see on tumblr of a booty of someone who exclusively does cardio vs. someone who does strength training. assuming you want some muscle definition and to not just be as thin as possible, exclusively relying on cardio will not give you the body that you’re looking for.
please note that i am not touting strength training > cardio. i think that BOTH should have a place in your routine, but if i had to pick which one i would weight more, it would be strength training hands down.
Anonymous asked: if i used to sweat more easily last year compared to this year does that mean i got more in shape or out of shape?
i have read that the more you sweat, the better shape you are in. this is because sweating is a way for your body to cool down, and as you exercise more, this mechanism becomes more efficient.
i found this on the internet:
As you get in better shape, your body learns to cool itself more efficiently. Blood is shunted to the skin’s surface more quickly via tiny blood vessels that dilate and radiate heat away from the body. At the same time, the sweat glands increase their output of a fluid-and-sodium mixture, which cools the body as it evaporates. While fit people produce more sweat than sedentary folks, they lose less salt, because more of it is reabsorbed by the body’s cells as it travels from the sweat glands to the skin’s surface. The result: More copious and diluted sweat, and more rapid cooling.
That being said, I really don’t know the answer to your question other than things I have read online that are not written by a medical doctor.
Anonymous asked: vegetarian protein that isn't dairy or grains?
tofu, tempeh, nuts, legumes!
Anonymous asked: I really wanna get cut, and have visable defined muscles. I'm lifting heavy and eating right, but no luck so far. Do you think upping my protein, and being more strict on my diet, eating only 1800 cals a day would be effective?
upping your protein wouldn’t hurt, though i can’t say this with 100% certainty because you haven’t included any details about your diet. i would make sure that you are getting a net calorie surplus - i can’t tell if 1800 is enough for you because i don’t know your height or weight, you can find many calculators online for this purpose.
my only other advice is to cut out dairy & grains and move closer to a paleo diet. i say this because it worked for me. as always, your milage may vary.
Anonymous asked: How do I get over my sugar addiction? I know its the reason Im not egtting the results I want, I eat too much (natural) sugar. Help :(
I’m unsure how to answer this since you don’t state where your sugars are coming from. I know that some people limit their fruit intake, but I honestly can’t get behind that viewpoint. Unless you are trying to get super-ripped, I don’t think natural sugars are the real issue.
Anonymous asked: I hate food (even junk food), but i want to gain weight and build muscle, so i need to eat... Do you know any healthy yummy recipe?
My advice is this - work on repairing your relationship with food along with searching for healthy yummy recipes. Figure out why you hate food, and how to get past it. Food is, at it’s worst, a source of energy (which is still a good thing) and at its best, one of the simplest joys of life. What is there to hate!
Anonymous asked: i love your abs. how can i get your stomach?
eat clean & train hard.
