Yesterday was the first day I have been to a gym in around 3.5 years. I stopped going because I was having difficulty finding the time, between working full-time and going to grad school. Now that i’m done with school, I am hoping to finally achieve my goal of becoming a fit and healthy (body & mind) person.
To backtrack - starting at around 16 yrs old, I developed an eating disorder that consumed my life for 7 years or so. At 23, I hit bottom in a lot of ways and knew that I would need to recover before I wasted any more of my life in that mindset. In the years since then, I have learned how to recognize hunger signals and figure out how to take care of my body from a nutrition perspective. It feels wonderful to have come this far. Now, it’s time to figure out the fitness part! I look forward to updating here and sharing what inspires me, and learning about what inspires you.
